Who are we?

At Williamwood High School, the PTA is an easy-going and friendly group of volunteer parents and staff, dedicated to enhancing the educational experience for every student.

We are a registered charity whose primary aim is to fundraise for the school. We use this money to buy equipment and supplies for a variety of school subjects and clubs. Your involvement helps us reach our goals and ensures that we can continue to offer fantastic opportunities for students.

We donated over £3000 to the school last year (2023/24) including contributions for sports strips, digital cameras, baking equipment, musical instruments, art supplies and prizes for clubs and tournaments. See below for some recent projects.

When do we meet?
We meet periodically during term-time, usually on a Tuesday evening in one of the maths classrooms on the ground floor. A full list of dates can be found in a pinned tweet on our Twitter/X account: @WilliamwoodPTA, please do check for any changes.  

Currently, our next meetings are:

– Tuesday 11th February 2025, 6.30pm (Joint meeting with PTA/Parent Council)
– Thursday 20th March 2025, 6.30pm (Joint meeting with PTA/Parent Council)
– Tuesday 13th May 2025, 6.30pm – PTA Annual General Meeting

How can you join?
We are actively seeking new members and welcome all parents to join us. By becoming a member, you’ll have a chance to contribute your ideas, participate in engaging events, and connect with other families who share your commitment to our school.

Join our prize draw!
Login into your Parent Pay account and for every child you have attending Williamwood HS, there is an option to buy a single £5 raffle ticket for the school year. For the price of this single ticket, you are entered into our monthly prize draw for the whole year! We run an additional advent raffle in Decemeber, for which you can buy separate tickets, also on Parent Pay.

Where possible, we buy prizes from Clarkston, Netherlee and Busby to support our local area.

Use our easy fundraising link!
If you are an online shopper, using our Easy Fundraising link helps us raise money. Click on this link to select Williamwood PTA – Glasgow as your cause (https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/williamwoodhighpta/). You will need to sign up for an account if you don’t already have one. You can then opt for adding a browser extension or simply bookmark the EasyFundraising site – the PTA should receive a donation every time you click through to your retailer of choice (John Lewis, M&S, Argos, Sainsbury’s and more all participate). It doesn’t cost you any more than what you would already be spending.

If you already have an Easy Fundraising account, please note that you can only support one cause at a time. You can easily change your cause to ‘Williamwood PTA – Glasgow’ in your account settings (Easy Fundraising lets you change your cause as often as you like) should yo wish to.

> £200+ towards equipment for a community cooking club
> £350+ for uniforms for our cheer team
> £100 for the Nurture Group + a donation of puzzles and games
> £350 for a robot for the Lego Club
> £200 to the Science department for badges for a new reward scheme
> £500 towards a snack cart for pupils who receive free school lunches
> £1000 to the Art department for a specialist sewing machine and art supplies
